Our Beliefs

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and, thus, it is our source for all teaching and preaching, as well as our guide for every area of life. (2 Tim. 3:16-17 / Heb. 4:12 / Isa. 40:8)

GOD

We believe in the one true God, that He is eternal in existence, is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, that He exists as a triune being (the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit) and that He is perfect and holy.  We believe that He is the creator of the entire universe and all that is in it. (Ps. 90:2 / Deut. 4:35, 6:4 / Matt. 3:16-17, 28:19)

JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ, the holy Son of God, came to be the sinless sacrifice for our sins, was born of a virgin, lived a holy and perfect life, died a cruel death on the cross, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven.  We believe that He is now our intercessor with the Father.  (John 3:16 / Rom. 8:34 / Heb. 7:25)

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit of God indwells each born again believer at the time of salvation and serves to guide, direct, convict and comfort them. (John 14:16-17, 26 / 1 Cor. 6:19 / Acts 2:38) 

MAN

We believe that man was created by God to have perfect fellowship with Him, but that through sin, man fell out of that relationship. (Gen. 3)

SALVATION

We believe that salvation comes through repentance of sin, belief in, and a life entrusted to Jesus Christ alone. (John 14:6 / Matt. 16:24-25) We believe if a person is genuinely saved (born again), they are saved for eternity.  (John 10:17-29 / Eph. 1:13, 4:30)

BAPTISM

Baptism is the first ordinance of two that we uphold.  We believe that all born again believers should be baptized after salvation as a means of following the Lord’s example (Matt. 3:13-16) and instruction (Matt. 28:19-20).  We do not, however, believe that baptism is needed for salvation.  Whenever possible and reasonable, this should be done by immersion, as was the Lord’s method. (Matt. 3:16 / John 3:23)

COMMUNION

Communion is the second ordinance of two that we uphold.  We believe that communion was given to the church by the Lord as a way of keeping His sacrifice close to our hearts and minds.  The bread is to display His broken body, and the cup to display His shed blood. The Church’s practice is any believer of like faith can partake of communion. (1 Cor. 11:17-34)

HEAVEN AND HELL

We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.  Heaven is the eternal home of all saved people, and hell is the eternal place of torment for the unsaved.  (Matt. 25:31-46 / 2 Thes. 1:7-9)

THE LORD’S DAY

We recognize the first day of the week (Sunday) as the Lord’s Day. This day is to recognize and celebrate the day of the Lord’s resurrection and victory over sin, death, and the grave. (Matt. 28:1, 9 / Mark 16:2, 9 / Luke 24:1, 30-31 / John 20:1 / Acts 20:7 / 1 Cor. 16:2)

CHURCH

The church (the body of Christ) consists of all born again believers. The local church is a gathering of born-again believers in a community. (Acts 2:47 / Heb. 10:25)

MARRIAGE

Marriage is the first institution created by God.  It unites one man and one woman in a covenant commitment with God for a lifetime.  It is used to reveal the union between Christ and His church.   It is God’s framework for intimate companionship, the channel of sexual expression according to biblical standards, and the means for procreation of the human race. (Gen. 2:15-25, Heb. 13:4)

THE RAPTURE

We believe in a literal rapture during which Christ will return and gather His faithful into heaven. Then they shall be with Him forever.  (1 Thes. 4:15-17 / 1 Cor. 15:50-54)
